The debate on washable
baby diapers and disposable diapers is a never-ending one. Where
disposable diapers are easy to use and throw, washable cloth diapers are skin
friendly, pocket friendly and eco-friendly.
Busy moms with
multiple kids to take care of or working moms may think that use of disposable
diapers is easier and millions of moms use disposables for their babies, so
they are not going to be that bad for the babies. However, this is not true.
Here are 5
reasons as to why washable cloth diapers are better than disposables.
The Cost: when you first search to buy
baby diapers online, you would know that buying disposable diapers in
wholesale costs just as much as a set of few washable cloth diapers. Which
means that for the same amount you may get 100-200 disposable diapers and just
10-15 cloth diapers. But never go on the quantity and if you go then think of it
that way that you will need to buy thousands of disposable diapers whereas 2
sets of 10-15 washable diapers for babies is enough. So obviously, by choosing
washable diapers for your babies you are saving not just a few but hundreds of
dollars.
Rash Creams: Rashes are common amongst
babies using disposable diapers and so it gradually seems like rash creams come
in the package of disposable diapers. According to our grandmothers, when
washable cloth diapers are used for babies any mother seldom needs rash creams.
Trash: this is a known fact that the
use of disposable diapers generate tons and tons of trash which is just
landfills it is non-biodegradable. Did you know that each baby from his birth
to potty training needs thousands of diapers? Imagine the trash created after
just one baby! Washable cloth diapers, as the name suggests are washable, which
means re-usable and made out of cloth, which means biodegradable material and
thus zero trash.
Smell: washable baby diapers
have no smell of theirs unless they aren’t cleaned, washed or dried properly.
Disposable diapers, irrespective of the brand you may choose, have this
distinct smell or fragrance. This smell may soothe you while making your baby
wear the diaper but will definitely frustrate you while removing the same upon
getting dirty. This is because of the reaction taking place between the
chlorine (from the urine) and the chemical additives present in the disposable
diapers.
Sag: Washable baby diapers are thick
with enough room in it to absorb pee effectively. Modern day disposable diapers
are super thin having gel absorbent technology, which starts sagging as soon as
the gel absorbs pee.
